The Wire and Cable Manufacturers’ Alliance, Inc. recently honored Daniel DeLisle General Manager (left) of plastic compounds manufacturer, AlphaGary Corp, as one of the recipients of its 2015 Distinguished Career Award.
This award recognizes wire and cable industry professionals of strong character and credibility who have made significant commercial or technical contributions over a minimum 25-year industry career.
Daniel DeLisle had been with Alphagary for his entire career, which began in 1988 when Gary Chemical in Massachusetts hired him for their purchasing department. In 1992, he relocated to North Carolina to cover the Southeast Regional sales territory, returning to Massachusetts in 1995 to manage Northeast Regional Sales. In 1998, he was promoted to National Accounts, advancing to National Sales Manager in 2001.
Two years later, he became the Global Sales Director. In 2005, his role expanded to include commercial activity with AlphaGary's UK operation. DeLisle was instrumental in leading the group’s transition to one combined operation of the AlphaGary and Bayshore businesses after the Mexichem acquisition in early 2011. He was promoted to his current position in 2012 as General Manager USA and the UK, operating as AlphaGary Corporation, a Mexichem. DeLisle has served on the Board of the Wire and Cable Manufacturers’ Alliance representing the Materials industry segment since 2011.
The Wire & Cable Manufacturers' Alliance (WCMA) is a non-profit trade association for manufacturers of electrical, electronic and fiber optic wire and cable with an established manufacturing base in North America, including the producers of signal and current-carrying wire and fiber, the producers of bulk cables, and wire and cable processors. WCMA was established in 2004 as the successor organization to the Wire & Cable Clubs of America which began the Distinguished Career Award in 1984. WCMA currently has 85 corporate members, with nearly 250 company representatives, throughout the United States.
